Christantus Uche Fuels Straightforward Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their maiden continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting very quickly. Missing star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further three points in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal direct entry to the last 16, especially after a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Opportunity

This match offered a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in succession.

The Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season proved outmatched against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Dominance Established from the Outset

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace quickly took control. A slick move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward finish.

Youngster Adam Wharton came close soon after, driving a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah subsequently claimed for a penalty after racing into the area, but the official waved away the appeals.

The formerArsenal striker didn't need to wait long to find his goal, prodding home from a yard out after Uche's shot had struck the post.

Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for two robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a header from a corner.

Pino Seals the Game

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
